ROMPaq driver for Compaq Presario 2872AP Type: BIOS DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq creates a ROMPaq firmware diskette that can be used to locally restore or upgrade the System ROM in the Presario/­Evo models listed below with a 68P4w Family ROM.­ The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer,­ and viewing File/­System Information.­ ENHANCEMENTS: -Adds support for Samsung F-die memory.­ - Adds support for Intel D1 stepping processors (also in previous Version F.­11).­ IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE! HOW TO USE: 1.­ Download the SoftPaq to a temporary,­ empty directory on your hard drive.­ The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.­ 2.­ From that drive and directory,­ execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to create the bootable BIOS update diskette.­ 3.­ With BIOS update diskette inserted,­ reboot the system to perform BIOS upgrade.­ 4.­ After the system has been shutdown,­ you may delete all temporary files and the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 1.­
